The Christmas Battle Museum (Trip in Latvia)

The Christmas Battle Museum (Trip in Latvia)

Thursday, April 14th we went to the Christmas Battle Museum with all students and teachers of each country from Erasmus project..
When we arrived, we were welcomed by guides who wore soldiers uniforms. We first discovered fields fortifications used during the first World War between Russians and Germans. The exhibition was showing us pictures and interesting battle schemes, as well as original objects found on battle fields like rifles, ammunitions, cannon shells and different kind of grenades.
Moreover, we managed to see a complete model, which duly depicted several square kilometers of the Christmas Battle field of the 1st World War.
After that, we were happy to practice different kind of activities :
Thus we separated us into two teams and we had to run as faster as we can in a maze with elastics.
The second one was quiet similar with only one way but each person of the team had to catch the person in front of her. This activity was a way to show us what the soldiers underwent in the first world war in these horrible trenches.
Last but not least, we finished the visit by an easy trail around the museum in the forest where we finally discovered an enormous sword knocked in the ground.
